Code of Conduct
Founded on the 28 of March 2008, "The Avengers" is a Lord Of The Rings Online (LOTRO) kinship, on the European Evernight server.
While our members frequently raid and PvP, it should be understood that we, as a kinship, are not hardcore about any aspect of the game. Our vision is instead to recruit mature and active players, provide them with resources to further their enjoyment, and maintain a peaceful environment.
Organisation
Council: Dyslexia (Leader), Roufio (Successor), Blitzabs, Pixiegalore.
Officers eostan, battje, Mado, Glringo, bazzer, watwe, Doirin, Uprheim, Fireround, mrtomte, Walhorin, Kladan, Boon, Adas, Zilla, Melareth.
Raid leaders, Recruitment officers.
The Council consist of the founders of the kinship. They make and adjust rules when needed. They also can promote and demote officers and can overrule officers decisions.
Officers can recruit new members, propose members for officer status, discuss and propose changes that could benefit the kinship and are basically the main eyes and ears of the kinship/guild.
- Officers may only recruit after the new member signed up on this forum and has been approved by the Recruitment officers.
- Recruits can be promoted after they survived the 14 day trail period.
- Banned members may not be recruited again, unless approved by the council.
- Officers should handle out-of-order members on a civilized manor and preferably in a voice chat.
- Officers cannot have any characters in another kin from the same faction.
Membership
Membership is a privilege, which leadership reserves the right to suspend or revoke, at any time. However, in all but the most extreme situations, members will be given at least one formal warning (in private), and the opportunity to explain their behavior to leadership, before any such actions are taken.
Members can be removed from the kinship member list after being offline for 99 days. A removed member can be re-invited at any time and will get his member status back on the forums and ingame.
Recruitement
All new members begin as recruits for a period of maximum 14 days. During this time they're encouraged to make every effort to interact with their kinsmen.
Recruits can signup for raids, but have no priority for selection.
To be considered for recruitment, players are expected to meet the following requirements:
- Must be 18 years old. Exceptions may be made for invites, friends and family of current members, on a case by case basis.
- Must register on this web site with their character's first name and fill out their character's profile information in its entirety.
If a member was invited before registration they have 7 days to do so. After that time, they may be dismissed from the Kinship on the assumption they don't wish to become a member.
Expectations
In addition to the terms of agreement required to register for an account on this web site, all recruits and full members are expected to:
- Be respectful to other players, and keep any personal disputes in private. If you can't resolve it between involved players, ask an officer or council member for help.
- Keep conversation to a PG-13 rating in kinship chat, TeamSpeak, and this web site.
- Be courteous towards other members, at all times.
- Read kinship announcements, and keep their character profile up to date.
- Begging for money in the kinship (chat) is not tolerated. There are sufficient ways to make money by looting, selling resources, crafting and completing quests.
- Begging for crafting materials is not appreciated. You can ask for them once, trade them, collect them yourself, or post a message in the 'trade post' topic on our forum.
- Our Grand Masters are most happy to craft for you. However, you need to supply the materials unless agreed otherwise.
- We will only craft for our kin and not for your profit. If you want to make a profit on crafting, level your own profession and sell the own crafted items.
- We pretend to be a helpful kinship and try to help each other out where and if we can. However, we do not appreciate spamming the kinship channel with help requests. Meaning solo quests can be done alone and please make use of the LFF channel.
- Needing and Greeding. Only need when you really need something for the character you are playing with. Don't need for your other characters, unless otherwise agreed. If you don't need it press roll/greed/pass.
Events
Members and recruits are welcome to signup for any event on the kinship calendar for which they meet the requirements.
- If you signed up for an event it is your responsibility that you are logged into the game, be on teamspeak (for raids) and are ready for an invite, by the scheduled time. Invites for raids start 10-15 minutes before the scheduled time.
- If you have signed as a reserve or are not confirmed by the event leader, you still need to be online to check if someone might dropped out and they need you.
- If you can't make it in time, you need to notify the raid / event leader or unsign for the event before the event starts.
Unofficial Events
Members are welcome to schedule non-official events, which conform to the following guidelines:
- Must maintain the event together with the assigned event leader.
- Must be posted no less than 24 hours before it's scheduled to begin, and include the start time and any requirements which will be taken into consideration.
- Must confirm attendees or post a notice that the event has been canceled/rescheduled, no less than one hour prior to the event.
- Must include only the name (no abbreviations) of the instance or the volume, book, and chapter (Book 2.7.4) in the event title. Please use the event details to post any additional information.
Official DKP Events & Raids
Unless a member has received prior permission, Management reserves the sole right to schedule all official kinship events and raids (instances which require 12+ participants).
Unless otherwise stated, the following will be taken into consideration when selecting participants:
- Raid Composure and Class Balance.
- Player Needs, Preferences, and Attendance History.
- Reserves (except recruits) will get a priority for a next raid unless class restriction.
- If there is a followup raid, there is a 24 hour grace period after the post time for signing up of the members who were there on the previous raid.
Teamspeak
TeamSpeak is required for official kinship (raid) events! Download and install the client at your earliest opportunity. Please use your character's first name only as your nickname.
Talking on TeamSpeak is appreciated, though not required. Listening is mostly enough while the event leaders give the orders and explanation.
DKP system
The official raid loot is distributed by DKP. We attempt to account for time spent in an instance, and previous loot won from the instance and encouraging raid attendance. Players receive points for time spent in a raid and bosses killed, and can spend those points on items when they drop.
To qualify for DKP the raid must originally be organized by our kin and it must be announced in this forum at least a day before the raid begins. At least 75% of the attendees must be from our kin or raid allies.
DKP will be assigned to players, not to characters. The total DKP you can spend is the sum of all your characters DKP.
If you sign up for a raid and do not show up without any notice, you have the risk to miss the next event(s) or even be banned.
DKP bounties
DKP is rewarded for boss kills in the folowing raid instances: The Rift, The Vile MAW, Dâr Narbugud, Barad Guldur, Ost Dunhoth.
You can get DKP for:
Low level raids (10 levels or more lower then the max game level)
- No reserve bonus
- 1 DKP time bonus
- 1 DKP boss kills
Mid level raids (5 levels lower then the max game level)
- No reserve bonus
- 3 DKP time bonus
- 1 DKP normal mode boss kills
- 3 DKP challenge mode boss kills
End level raids (max game level)
- 3 DKP reserve bonus
- 5 DKP time bonus
- 5 DKP normal mode boss kills
- 10 DKP challenge mode boss kills
Non DKP raids:
- Nornúan
- Skirmish raids like Helegrod
DKP loot and bidding rules
DKP bids are allowed on all items that are being offered for DKP by the raid leader. Preference is given to members who meet any specific class or level requirements. You can go all-in on bids and use all your DKP for a bid. The amount currently listed on the DKP standings is valid.
The raid leader will start bids or rolls by linking the item in raid chat and ask raid members to bid or roll, depending on the item. Bids or rolls before and after closing the auction are considered not valid. If a member rolls more than once, all his rolls are considered invalid and he can join the next roll.
If there is a double DKP bid going on, only higher bids are allowed. Ex.: There is one bid of 15 and one of 45, the next valid bid can only be 46 or higher.
DKP bids have to be taken seriously. If you won the item, you get the item. Driving up prices is not allowed and will be punished with minus DKP and / or raid bans.
The minimum DKP bid is 5 DKP for all items:
- Housing items: 5 DKP
- Incomparable: 5 DKP
- Second Age Legendary Item: 5 DKP
- Epic: 5 DKP
- First Age Legendary Item: 5 DKP
If there are no DKP bids: ./roll for BoA items. A raid leader can decide to put BoE item in the kin vault and offer it to other kin members for 30 days max.
Unclaimed items may be auctioned off, the proceeds of which will be donated to the kinship.
